Hi! I'm Trish.

My Story

I am a passionate and kind leader, communication partner, and mentor for IGNITE Collective, Inc. I am an ardent advocate for people who want to achieve their dreams and goals, no matter their circumstances. My immense experience in academic support, supervisory roles, communication support, and grant writing has fueled her desire to gain more tools that continue to break barriers and create pathways for self-advocates, families, and professional colleagues. I am attending Cal Poly Pomona for Business Administration with a double focus on Law and Finance. I envision being the agent of change who will bridge the huge gaps caused by the complex legal language and financial obstacles constantly faced by people with disabilities and their families.

My secret superpowers lie in my lifelong experience of navigating life as someone with acquired and invisible disabilities. A devastating injury from when she was a healthy three-month-old infant would give her all the tools she is now sharing with others. Growing up in the Philippines during a time when “resources” and “adaptive” were unheard of, I learned to overcome by constantly observing, adjusting, and doing. I also acknowledge that her tremendous growth and victories in life wouldn’t have been possible without my family and the beautiful communities I've been privileged to be a part of. I believe in applying the power of humankind-ness, purposefulness, and education as I continue to fight for the rights and empowerment of people with disabilities.
